Wildhorse Golf Club has partnered with The First Tee of Southern Nevada to provide continuing Junior Golf development programs for the community.
What is The First Tee of Southern Nevada?
The First Tee of Southern Nevada is an association geared to accommodate all kids from six years of age until their 18th birthday. Members are able to participate in clinics, educational seminars, tournaments, and special events throughout the year. The mission is broader than simply teaching kids how to play golf, our curriculum has a strong life skills component that includes community service and mentoring opportunities.
Through the Life Skills curriculum, participants learn valuable lessons about such things as making decisions by thinking about the possible consequences; defining and setting goals; and how to transfer values such as responsibility, honesty, integrity, respect, confidence and sportsmanship from the golf course to everyday life. These lessons are taught through a variety of golf-related exercises designed with the primary goal of having fun. Members learn about themselves and others through a range of experiences that enhance their golf fundamentals as well as their values for life. As their opportunities on the golf course expand, so do the opportunities for their futures.
Being a member gives kids the opportunity to learn about golf and life while enjoying the feeling of marked improvement all the while forming friendships that will last a lifetime. There are many Developmental Programs available for members of TFTSN, and most of the programs are free of charge to all members.
